We are proud to announce that The Massachusetts Conference for Women has awarded the 2013  Be The Change Award to our own Executive Director, Judy Giovangelo!  Judy was honored during the keynote luncheon of the 9th Annual Massachusetts Conference for Women on Thursday, Dec. 5 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center in front of over 9,000 attendees, including her mother, daughter Jenna, and son Michael.  Other attendees at the conference included Board members Meredith Poulten, Alan Cantor, Mike Snow and Ian Mick.

Judy was chosen out of many respected nominees whose work aligns with the mission of the Conference — helping women and girls achieve their full potential while exemplifying compassion and commitment to improving the lives of the people in their communities.

One criterion of the “Be the Change” award that Judy Giovangelo does particularly well is inspiring others – and motivating them to carry out their calls to action.  She rises above and beyond in the realm of community service by shining light on a particular need or service in the area – giving her time and resources to the people and organizations they serve.

We are honored that the Massachusetts Conference for Women has selected Judy Giovangelo to receive this award,” said Meredith Poulten, President of the Ben Speaks Board of Directors. “It is a special recognition as we move into our 5th year of empowering our youth in New England She brings the message that each of us, including our children, are 100% responsible for our individual thoughts, words, feelings, actions and reactions and reminds us that we are the creators of our own experience bringing positive tools for change. We look forward to a bright future of continuing to embody everything that the ‘Be the Change’ award represents.”
